We had a wonderful weekend watching a high school robotics competition with friends.
We got to see robots throwing Frisbees through targets, picking up Frisbees, racing about, breaking down and climbing 3 level jungle gyms.
The big kids got to check out the robotics workshop and proudly stowed their safety goggles in their school totes.
Blue Eyes promptly made "best friends" with a couple of very sweet teenage girls with a giant bucket of jelly beans and Valentine pointed out all the best robots to his very own stuffed robot he brought along from home.
Iddy enjoyed the event especially the variety of fashion displayed by the various teenage competitors ( I am pretty sure Dr. Who walked by twice, and all the bacon t-shirts!) but probably won't be begging to sign up anytime soon. Ferdinand however has checked the calendar twice to see how many years and months it is until he is old enough to sign up for the middle school league.
My inner geek was very jealous, there was nothing even remotely as fun back when I was a high-schooler and a surprising number of girls were involved the event.
