School-Dazed

Our experiment of taking the summer off completely was a pretty huge failure as far as attitude went. No one was very happy and everyone felt restless and out of sorts and our normally cheerful, if very loud, home was full of arguing crabby children. Re-starting our "school" routine this last month was the first time in weeks that everyone had a cheerful peaceful day.

We had decided to let our  routine go over the summer as Ferdinand was experiencing terrible ongoing hive attacks that made everyone anxious. Well I learned my lesson, when experiencing family stress we need to cling to our rhythm rather than let it go.

Everyone has been happy and co-operative and despite a scary hive relapse and E.R. visit. We are keeping to our rhythm and I am planning on keeping our routine strong through our future seasonal breaks.

Apple picking!

Guess who spent an entire morning picking apples, 3 days slicing and drying and putting up 16 quarts of apples?

Guess who has already eaten 16 quarts of dried apples?
