Europe box...

Iddy has been researching Europe during March and decided to match up the items in our Continent box.
She was quite stumped over the coins which led to a discussion of the names countries call themselves versus what we call them in English.

We alas have never been to Europe but have quite a collection of things from Grammy and Grampy's trips.
The little Polish pottery cross is my favorite, dd likes the rose rosary beads from Italy.

Carnation Experiment...

Somewhere along the line Iddy Biddy has picked up the idea that she doesn't "like science".

A funny statement from a kid that loves discussing black holes and the composition of lava and organic farming practices.

We have a science text in the house -read this , answer that...her declaration came after reading through it the other day.

It did not stop her from questioning and experimenting though...

She decided she like science after all, just not science text books...:)

March chalkboards...

I picked up this first poem from AussieAnnie at
http://starrymantle.blogspot.com/

This next one is a line from a poem titled "Herald"
by Maureen Cannon

Other than borrowing from other blogs and the books stacked up around the house my favorite place to find chalkboard copy work is
from the Ladybug and Spider Magazines we buy old copies from our library but you can subscribe here http://www.cricketmag.com/home.asp
We have made many of new "Poet Friends" on account of these magazines.

Early spring flowers...

This is the sight that greeted me when I came home with Valentine from the hospital...

The kiddos did a great job.

It has snowed and poured since but they still look lovely!
